Computer Aided Design

Description:
Students will work at their own pace to learn the CAD program and then use CAD to design and make a toy with moving parts. Students will use various machines available in the lab to make some of the parts of their design.

Announcements:

Students in CAD work at their own pace to design a toy with moving parts. Because some students will catch on to the software faster than others, they may move along faster. These students will be tasked with additional enrichment activities.

Trimester Plan:

Students should have sketches, pictures, url's, etc. for the toy they wish to design after 4 weeks into the trimester. This activity should continue throughout the term.

At seven weeks, students should be completing the tutorial exercises and beginning work on their designs.

Ten to twelve weeks into the trimester, students should have drawings printed and begin constructing parts of their design.

During the last week of the trimester, students should be preparing to present their work to the class. Presentations will take place during the final assessment day.
